Pics of Vegas!

Our pimped out room at Bally's

OK So here I am again

O.K. So here I am again, Ashley, posting to a blog that no one reads. I few things I have noticed lately. The country continues to fall apart…..

Maybe I will talk about something else. I spent the weekend in Las Vegas with 2 other friends from Little Rock. We went out there with 6 other guys from around the country. We were celebrating that Jeff was getting married! We had a great time and I recommend that everyone should go to Vegas at least once. We hit many of the casino’s on the strip….The Wyn, Bally’s , Paris, New York, MGM, etc.

We HAD to take him to the strip clubs so we hit Spearmint Rhino and Crazy Horse Too . We made sure he had a great time and thanks to Kelly for hooking u up! He made it on stage….enough said. Would have been great to show pictures, but that, of course, you can’t take pictures.

Anyway, we had a good time sending Jeff off into marriage! I will post some pictures in the next post. They are crappy quality from my cell phone. Cheers!

Arkansas Times

A nice editorial about our continuing mess. I remeber having a conversation with a good friend 5 years ago....we both convinced ourselves that a president could change things but not really screw up a country....we were wrong and as naive as "The Wanker" or "W" if you prefer to be polite. I have trouble having any respect for the man. The difference is that we can learn from our mistakes and make a change...he can't seem to learn anything or change course midstream if it is in the best interest of the country.

American Legion?

Quoted from the Arkansas Times Weblog 8/24/05:

http://www.arktimes.com/Weblogs/WeblogItemDetail.aspx?WebLogItemID=5daf6851-1b86-4761-af27-f8f5eee4d2f9&WeblogID=dabe8285-8214-4a72-ae7c-7ed16bb5ed5b
And you think we exaggerate?
It has come to this, from Editor & Publisher:
NEW YORK The American Legion,
which has 2.7 million members, has declared war on antiwar protestors, and
the
media could be next. Speaking at its national convention in Honolulu,
the
group's national commander called for an end to all “public protests”
and “media
events” against the war, constitutional protections be damned.
"The American
Legion will stand against anyone and any group that would
demoralize our troops,
or worse, endanger their lives by encouraging
terrorists to continue their
cowardly attacks against freedom-loving
peoples," Thomas Cadmus, national
commander, told delegates at the group's
national convention in Honolulu.
... Cadmus explained, "No one respects the
right to protest more than one
who has fought for it, but we hope that
Americans will present their views in
correspondence to their elected
officials rather than by public media events
guaranteed to be picked up and
used as tools of encouragement by our enemies."
This might suggest to some,
however, that American freedoms are worth dying for,
but not exercising.
And if the American Legion doesn't stop you from
publicly protesting,
the D-G will be on hand to mock you.
Dude, who stole
our country?
My response:

Ok....when was the last time the "enemy" used pictures of war protesters in the U.S for their propaganda? Seems like it is the U.S. soldier in a foreign land (captured great, dead even better) that is their most powerful propaganda. The infidel soldier on holy land is the most powerful motivation for violence and resistance for the "enemy." If the Legion doesn't like antiwar protest how about we just call it anti-leadership protest? We do need to support our troops even more in these times....I would be scared shitless if I knew I was headed out to Iraq these days with piss-poor equipment made for the deer woods and not a war zone (I could buy a Hummer at my local dealer). Maybe anti-leadership protests ARE a better way of viewing the protesting....we need to protest our leaders who have created this situation with every avenue possible....whether through the media, on the street corner or at the gates of the White House. There are voices to be heard and they need to be louder and stronger than the minority of those who now support the handling of the war.

By the way, where is the impeachment call....other presidents have faced impeachment trials for less.

Gas Prices

When was the last time Bush filled up the Presidential limo? I don't think he has any concept about the price of gas. I have a better idea. Let's see if he like paying for the fuel for all the vehicles he requires PLUS the gas for Airforce One.....from his own pocket.

Awesome movie with a muture end to it. Do you think people would have a problem with it if it had only stayed in print and never made it to Hollywood? If you think this is controversial, look at literature.

BBC NEWS | Americas | Bush stands by Rumsfeld on Iraq

What the hell? Why is Rumsfeld still around....he should have been on of the ones fired from the cabinet. "a really fine job"? Is Bush kidding? I can't take this for 4 more years!

BBC NEWS | Americas | Bush stands by Rumsfeld on Iraq

Saturday, November 06, 2004

That was quite a ramble back there on the 28th now that I am reading it again for the first time. I know that it doesn't make sense in parts but I am going to leave it as is. The sentiment is still there even if the grammar has not been edited.

I am still concerned over the results of the election. George is no more a uniter than he is a good ole boy. The only hope is that he can get rid of some of his cabinet and replace them with less trash than currently occupies the positions.

As the gov. of CA said today, why do I care about the losers......I am afraid Bush probably feels the same way.I hate to be so pesimistic...I view it more realism. Let's just wait for the next Bin Laden tape.

On a positive note, fall is finally here and it is glorious!

O.k. So it is time to move on. No more politics for a while. I am still very bitter and upset about the results of the election. However, it is time to get back to the orginal purpose of this blog...to sit and relax and enjoy life through blogging!

An Embarrassment

I am very disappointed in our country. We have possibly reelected a man that can not admit failure, has an administration that leaks names of CIA agents and covers it up, and is losing a war. Despite all this, this country reelected him. A true embarrassment to the world.

Time for action, go vote, get rid of BUSH, VOTE the Publicans out of office!

FDLFVB 2004: Friends Don't Let Friends Vote for Bush

So the election is only a few days away. I am still concerned that Kerry has not done enough to pull out in front. Bush has created more security problems for this country, at least has misled us on the Iraq war if not lied, and what about the leak that led to a CIA agent to be discovered. The press will not put forth the name of the person in his administration that leaked the name. Now, we spent MILLIONS of $$'s and hours of wasted time to investigate President Clinton land deals on the White River (a beautiful are of Arkansas by the way, check out the pick of Cotter bridge below.....it is on the White River) that led to the arrest of many friends but nothing implicating Clinton. Now, where is the independent council to investigate Bush? Clinton never lied to the country that led to a fundamental change in the world's view of our nation or a less secure homeland than we have ever had. Clinton was impeached over lesser accusations and charges. What the hell is going on here? Travelgate was nothing! Sleep-overs at the White House? Coffees at the White House? None of these compare to the destructive behavior of Bush and his cabinet. That have altered our relationship with the rest of the world in a time when we need to be united by a true unifier, not someone who has created a divide between us and the rest of the world. Some might ask who cares about the rest of the world? I do. We obviously can't take care of Iraq by ourself so what happens if war NEEDS to be waged elsewhere.....we are not up to the task at the moment. We we need allies. With all these mistakes that have led to our current situation, there is no acknowledgement that any mistakes have even occurred. Bush thinks is makes him look weak to admit mistake. I ask you this: would you rather your president look a little weak or really smart? I would rather have a president that is intelligent and can demonstrate this in his actions and words. This leads to a strength not measured in resolve but in intelligence which leads to respect and dignity for our country. This might in turn might make us a little less a target for our enemies and our friends. I was scared that something bad would happen when Bush was elected president. I thought that he could screw up the economy or that he would divide the country even more than was after the 2000 election. Guess what....I thought, "no, a president is too insulated by his cabinet and advisors that he can't make enough stupid decisions to really effect the country." I was wrong.....it has been worse.....I has scared when he was elected last time now I can't believe that there is anyone not scared of this man. Well, that is enough for now. I had hoped to post more before the election but I am very busy at work. Those babies just keep coming. For their sake, I hope that we can get rid of this arrogant, self engrossed, dumb-fuck on Tuesday. Get out and vote...don't be discouraged if you have to wait!
