That was quite a ramble back there on the 28th now that I am reading it again for the first time. I know that it doesn't make sense in parts but I am going to leave it as is. The sentiment is still there even if the grammar has not been edited.
I am still concerned over the results of the election. George is no more a uniter than he is a good ole boy. The only hope is that he can get rid of some of his cabinet and replace them with less trash than currently occupies the positions.
As the gov. of CA said today, why do I care about the losers......I am afraid Bush probably feels the same way.I hate to be so pesimistic...I view it more realism. Let's just wait for the next Bin Laden tape.
On a positive note, fall is finally here and it is glorious!

An Embarrassment
I am very disappointed in our country. We have possibly reelected a man that can not admit failure, has an administration that leaks names of CIA agents and covers it up, and is losing a war. Despite all this, this country reelected him. A true embarrassment to the world.

Time for action, go vote, get rid of BUSH, VOTE the Publicans out of office!
FDLFVB 2004: Friends Don't Let Friends Vote for Bush
So the election is only a few days away. I am still concerned that Kerry has not done enough to pull out in front. Bush has created more security problems for this country, at least has misled us on the Iraq war if not lied, and what about the leak that led to a CIA agent to be discovered. The press will not put forth the name of the person in his administration that leaked the name. Now, we spent MILLIONS of $$'s and hours of wasted time to investigate President Clinton land deals on the White River (a beautiful are of Arkansas by the way, check out the pick of Cotter bridge below.....it is on the White River) that led to the arrest of many friends but nothing implicating Clinton. Now, where is the independent council to investigate Bush? Clinton never lied to the country that led to a fundamental change in the world's view of our nation or a less secure homeland than we have ever had. Clinton was impeached over lesser accusations and charges. What the hell is going on here? Travelgate was nothing! Sleep-overs at the White House? Coffees at the White House? None of these compare to the destructive behavior of Bush and his cabinet. That have altered our relationship with the rest of the world in a time when we need to be united by a true unifier, not someone who has created a divide between us and the rest of the world. Some might ask who cares about the rest of the world? I do. We obviously can't take care of Iraq by ourself so what happens if war NEEDS to be waged elsewhere.....we are not up to the task at the moment. We we need allies. With all these mistakes that have led to our current situation, there is no acknowledgement that any mistakes have even occurred. Bush thinks is makes him look weak to admit mistake. I ask you this: would you rather your president look a little weak or really smart? I would rather have a president that is intelligent and can demonstrate this in his actions and words. This leads to a strength not measured in resolve but in intelligence which leads to respect and dignity for our country. This might in turn might make us a little less a target for our enemies and our friends. I was scared that something bad would happen when Bush was elected president. I thought that he could screw up the economy or that he would divide the country even more than was after the 2000 election. Guess what....I thought, "no, a president is too insulated by his cabinet and advisors that he can't make enough stupid decisions to really effect the country." I was wrong.....it has been worse.....I has scared when he was elected last time now I can't believe that there is anyone not scared of this man. Well, that is enough for now. I had hoped to post more before the election but I am very busy at work. Those babies just keep coming. For their sake, I hope that we can get rid of this arrogant, self engrossed, dumb-fuck on Tuesday. Get out and vote...don't be discouraged if you have to wait!

BUSH MISLEADS ON FISCAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In a speech Monday, President Bush advocated fiscal responsibility in government, saying, "we need to be wise about how we spend your money."[1] He is now poised, however, to sign into law a massive, $137-billion tax giveaway to corporate and special interests.[2]
The tax bill was originally created to fix a $50-billion export subsidy that had triggered retaliatory tariffs by our trading partners. Instead of simply repealing the subsidy, Congress replaced it with a $77-billion giveaway to corporations, many of which never qualified for the original subsidy.[3] It
also provides $43 billion in tax breaks for companies operating overseas,[4] including a giant break to top corporations like Hewlett-Packard and Eli Lilly that allows them "to bring hundreds of billions of dollars in untaxed foreign profits back into the United States at about one-seventh of the
normal tax rate."[5]
Lawmakers larded down the bill with pork for their favored special interests. The bill included million-dollar tax cuts for fishing tackle box manufacturers, Chinese ceiling fan importers, horse and dog track gamblers and Native Alaskan whaling captains.[6]

During Tuesday's debate Vice President Cheney claimed that John Kerry's plan to roll back tax cuts for individuals making over $200,000 would negatively impact nearly a million small businesses. Cheney said that, "about 900,000 small businesses will be hit if you do, in fact, do what they want to do with the top bracket."[1] The figure Cheney cited is highly misleading.
Under Cheney's definition a small business is any taxpayer who reports some income - even just $1 - from a small business investment or partnership. By this logic, "every partner at a huge accounting firm or at the largest law firm would represent small businesses."[2] Also, by Cheney's definition, President Bush would have counted as a small business in 2001 because that year "he reported $84 of business income from his part ownership of a timber-growing enterprise."[3] The overwhelming majority of actual small businesses are in the lower tax brackets and would be unaffected by the Kerry proposal.[4]

CHENEY AND BUSH MISLEAD ABOUT HUSSEIN/ZARQAWI CONNECTION
Vice President Cheney and President Bush have repeatedly claimed that
al-Qaeda had a working relationship with Saddam Hussein which justified
the invasion of Iraq. The key piece of evidence Cheney and President
Bush have used to support this claim was that Hussein harbored Abu Musab
al Zarqawi - a suspected associated of al-Qaeda. For example, on 6/21/04
Cheney said "Mr.
Zarqawi, who is in Baghdad today, is an al Qaeda associate who took
refuge in Baghdad, found sanctuary and safe harbor there before we ever
launched into Iraq."[1] President Bush said on 6/15/04 "Zarqawi's the
best evidence of a [Hussein] connection to al Qaeda affiliates and al
Qaeda."[2] One problem: there is no evidence to support these claims.
Knight Ridder reports "a new CIA assessment undercuts the White House
claim that Saddam Hussein maintained ties to al Qaeda, saying there is
no conclusive evidence that the regime harbored terrorist Abu Musab al
Zarqawi."[3] According to a senior U.S. intelligence official "The
evidence is that Saddam never gave Zarqawi anything."[4] Ironically, the
assessment was requested by Cheney.[5]
